Design as a way to experience nature? Yes. Thanks to its unusual form and size, this bathtub offers a possibility to enjoy a feeling of free floating, like in the ocean. Phoenix Design has designed Bassino, the free floating bathtub, for Kaldewei, the European market leader of high-quality bathtubs and shower basins. With this innovative design concept we have shown how the bathing experience can be designed as a brand experience; and we have been able to affirm and extend Kaldewei’s position as a “brand of the century” among the circle of Germany’s strongest brands. Bassino is convincing thanks to its straightforward design language and its sophisticated functionality. Thank to its inner size, the tub may be used for floating freely in the water. In order to achieve an optimum floating effect, the provided cushion can be positioned as a neck rest underneath one’s head. The shallow water depth makes getting in and out of the tub conveniently easy. Thanks to its ample dimensions and straight floor surface, Bassino is also well-suited for being used as a spacious and comfortable shower basin. It can be installed with enclosure in front of a wall, in a corner or as a free-standing unit. A freely adjustable tub board, serving as shelf or seat as needed, expands the comfort functions, complementing the idea of versatile, individual bathing enjoyment.
