V-Belt

Industrial V Belts commonly known as a fan belt, is a rubber belt that drives belongings such as the alternator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump and water pump. It is called a v-belt because of its shaped cross-section. The side of the belt grips the pulleys wherein some belts have notches in them to increase the grip, to help cool the belt and reduce stress as the belt bends around small diameter of the pulleys.
