Valve lockouts are a simple and effective way to prevent unauthorized operation of valves. Valves come in a huge range of shapes, sizes and methods of operation. Whether you have Ball Valves, Gate Valves, Plug Valves, Globe Valves or Butterfly Valves, the thing that determines what locking device is needed is the method of operation. Many valves are manually operated via a handwheel, lever wrench or sometimes the valve might be power actuated e.g. electric motor, hydraulic or pneumatic actuator.
