Botanical Name: Vetiveria zizanoides is the scientific name for the Vetiver tree. 
Origin: Vetiveria zizanoides is native to the land of ‘snake charmers’ – India! 
Form: The Vetiver oil is a thick consistency oil. 
Scent: The Vetiver oil has an earthy, musty smell – reminding that of a damp forest floor. 
Shade and Appearance: The Vetiver oil is Amber to Olive in color. 
Chemical constituents: The main chemical components of Vetiver oil are Benzoic Acid, Furfurol, Vetiverol, α & β-Vetivone, Vetivene and Vetivenyl-Vetivenate. 
Extraction method: The Vetiver oil is extracted from the washed, chopped, dried and soaked roots and rootlets via steam distillation.
