DESCRIPTION OF VETIVER ESSENTIAL OIL
Vetiver Essential Oil is extracted from the roots of Vetiveria Zizanioides, through Steam Distillation process. It belongs to the Poaceae family of plantae kingdom. It originates from India and also grown in tropical regions of the world. Vetiver was grown mainly to protect soil against erosion, and stabilise soil. It was also used as a repellent to protect crops against pests and weeds, and for feeding animals. Vetiver has been used in Indian Household since ages, it is used for flavouring drinks, making concoctions and Sherbets. It was also a part of Traditional Medicine in South Asia. Because of its earthy smell and recognisable note it became famous in Fragrance Industry and became an integral part of it.
Vetiver Essential Oil has a strong, earthy and woody aroma which is incredibly famous in the perfume industry and used in making many signature fragrances, especially men’s colognes.
