Blindness can be prevented and reduced in India if Comprehensive Vision screening is done at an early stage and also regularly.  Screening of the employees eyes regularly (once a year) can help the organisation take appropriate action in correcting the eyesight/assigning suitable alternate jobs etc. This helps in improving productivity substantially and also reduces accidents and monetary losses.
Comprehensive Vision screening can be done in 8~10 minutes single sitting of the employee/the person being tested.  The vision screener does the following tests :
1. Visual Acuity - Clarity of vision at far / intermediate and near distances.....
2. Glare Recovery - ability of the eye to quickly readapt to darkness after encountering a sudden bright light
3. Colour Perception - colour blindness
4.  Depth Perception - 3-D perception ability…..stereopsis.
5. Muscle Imbalance     ....misalignment of eyes.....vertical and horizontal phoria.
6. Contrast Sensitivity  ...visual ability to see objects that may not be outlined clearly or that do not stand out from their background, and of course,
7. Peripheral Vision - reduction of field of vision – vertical and horizontal ... suspicion of Glaucoma
