Waterproofing Coating Application

Option A: Cementitious Waterproofing

Mix and apply two-component cementitious waterproofing coating (e.g., Fosroc Brushbond, Sika Top Seal, Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP).

Apply two coats:

1st coat horizontally (raft)

2nd coat vertically (retaining wall)

Coverage: ~1.5–2.0 kg/sqm per coat

Optional: Embed alkali-resistant mesh at junctions and critical areas.

Option B: Bituminous Membrane (Torch/APP or Self-Adhesive)

Apply one coat of bituminous primer.

After primer dries, install 3mm/4mm APP modified bituminous membrane with proper overlaps (100 mm side lap, 150 mm end lap).

Use torch-on method or self-adhesive membrane as per site conditions.

Option C: HDPE Membrane / PVC Membrane

Fix HDPE or PVC waterproofing sheet on raft and wall using thermofusion or overlap welding.

Ensure protection with screed or protection board.

🔹 5. Fillet / Cove at Junctions

Provide 75 mm × 75 mm fillet (angle coving) using polymer mortar at all wall-to-raft junctions to avoid sharp corners.

🔹 6. Protection Layer

After curing of coating or membrane, apply a protection layer:

Cement mortar screed (~50 mm) or

Protection board (3–5 mm HDPE/bitumen board)

This prevents

damage during backfilling or further structural work.
