Introduction

Wood ash is the residue of fire from agricultural waste and wood. Wood ash is a rich source of potassium and lime. Though the quantity varies plant to plant, it is good source of many nutrients. Wood ash may contain carbon which is generally called as char. This carbon has capacity to hold moisture and release slowly as required.
