If the ratio is be more than 10% it is classified as mechanical paper. Woodfree paper is also coated (CWF) or uncoated (UWF). Woodfree paper is typically referred to as “fine paper.” It is commonly used for printing letterheads, notebooks, notepads, calendars, maps and other similar type items, which are used for writing or standard printing.

How they are made :

Woodfree Paper a product made out of Chemical Pulp which is normally made from pulp wood items, but is not considered wood as most of the lignin is removed and separated from the cellulose fibers during processing. whereas mechanical pulp retains most of its wood components and can therefore still be described as wood. Woodfree paper is not as susceptible to yellowing as paper containing mechanical pulp.
