Worm Wheels

The standard right hand worm which is integral with its shaft is manufactured from high quality alloy steel, En36 case hardened on its threads and finished off, with ground and polished thread profiles.
Left hand worm is also available on request. The wormwheel  rim is made from centrifugally cast phosphor bronze, PB2 welded on and secured to cast iron centre. The wheel tooth and worm thread are of basic involute helicoids conforming to British standards but carefully7 modified to enhance gear performance, ensuring uniform transmission of angular velocity under all load conditions.  This modification also incorporated the additional features of improved lubrication thus resulting in higher operating efficiency.
