yeast beta glucan is a special compound derived from the cell walls of yeast ( saccharomyces cerevisiae ). Its chemical structure is long beta 1,6- glucan branched beta 1,3- glucan. It is widely accepted now that the beta-1,3-glucan purified from yeast (saccharomyces cerevisiae) is the most potent anti-infective immunomodulator of all species of beta 1,3-glucans.
research indicates that beta-1,3-glucan derived from saccharomyces cerevisiae triggers an immune response in the body creating a system of defense against viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic or neoplastic invaders, lowers blood cholesterol levels, inhibits tumor growth.
