Ziprasidone displays high affinity at sr-2a receptors with a sr-2ad2dr affinity ratio greater than any other clinically available atypical antipsychotics (pki values are 9.38, 8.88, 8.69, 8.47, 8.32, 8.14, 7.98, 7.49, 7.33 and 6.28 for sr-2a, 5-ht2c, 5-ht1d, 5-ht1a, d2dr, d3, α1, d4, h1 and d1 receptors respectively).

ziprasidone hydrochloride is a pale tan powder. It is soluble in dmso (>10 mgml), dmf (~0.16 mgml), and 1: 2 solution of dmso: pbs (ph 7.2) (~0.33 mgml) insoluble in water with melting point of 300°c.
