The definition of an interposing relay panel is anelectrical unit used for hardwired signals withdigital inputs and outputs that interfaces betweenthe control equipment and circuit breakers or amonitoring controller. The interposing relay isnecessary because it separates the circuits andallows them to switch from high to low or low tohigh voltages and currents. This helps if thesolenoid, which is connected to the relay, has adifferent voltage than the PLC. There areoccasions when you will not need an interposingrelay.
