Maple wood is durable and heavy. It is strong and moisture resistant and therefore ideal to withstand years of wear and tear. American Maple is pale in color and has natural swirls and twists in the wood grain. It can easily accept any type of stain or paint.
American Maple can be used for i. eg. furniture, including intarsia, floors, moldings, toys, utensils, musical instruments, doors and kitchen utensils, etc.
Thermo-treated ash wood becomes more resistant to fungus and rot without the use of chemicals. With this heat treatment, the color of the wood changes to nut brown, while the beautiful veins are preserved. The thermal treatment makes the wood suitable for outdoor use for garden furniture and other outdoor furniture.
Birch is one of the most widely used woods for veneer and plywood worldwide. The colour tends to be a light reddish brown, with nearly white sapwood. The grain is generally straight or slightly wavy, with a fine, even texture. Low natural luster. The wood is also susceptible to insect attack. Birch can be used for plywood, boxes, crates, turned objects, interior trim, and other small specialty wood items.
The color of the European maple can change from white to a creamy off-white / ivory shade. The European Maple is slightly lighter than the American Maple. From white over the golden to bright, reddish-brown. The grain is generally straight but may be wavy. Has a fine, even texture.
It is fairly easy to work with both hand and machine tools, though Maple tends to burn when being machined with high-speed cutters. It Turns, glues, and finishes well, though blotches can occur when staining, and a pre-conditioner, gel stain, or toner may be necessary to get an even color.
Can be used for i. eg. furniture, floors, moldings, veneers, toys, tools, musical instruments, kitchen utensils, etc.
When light oak ammonia is treated, a darker color is obtained, which can vary from golden honey to almost black. European Smoked Oak has a gray-brown core, which darkens with time and location in relation to light. The use for the Smoked Oak is primarily used for indoor floors, stairs and furniture.
