A Separable Connector, also referred to as a Plug-in is a separable cable termination - designed for opening and closing only when a circuit is de-energized. Neither voltage nor current can be present when this type of Separable Connector is opened or closed. Separable Connectors from 3M offer distinct advantages in comparison to conventional terminations.

 

  • Very short distances from phase to phase.
  • Compact design & High Safety features.
  • Provides protection in the event of an accidental contact of person to phase.
  • No need for protection plates between phase to phase.
  • Submersion of the Separable Connector and the equipment is possible.
  • Maintenance free.

The 3M Separable Connector is designed to ensure peak performance and maximum safety.

  • Silicone / EPDM insulation body - ensures radial pressure on cable primary insulation and bushing interface.
  • Inner semi-conductive screen - Silicone screen controls electrical stress around connecting devices.
  • Outer semi-conductive layer - this painted / molded layer that is connected to ground, guarantees safety to personnel, minimum distance among phases and to ground, and ensures protection in the event of accidental contact.
