Saru Shielding

Saru produces lead bricks for shielded reactor rooms, work spaces or bulkheads and can be constructed quickly and economically using our interlocking lead bricks and lead chevron rail. Our two shielding systems use individual bricks of 50mm or 100mm thickness, which are designed to lock into the lead bricks surrounding it. The unique design of the bricks enables them to be layered in order to achieve precisely the thickness of shielding required by the vessel.

Our portable lead pots are designed for multiple uses in the nuclear industry. Lead pots are ideal for occasions when small volumes of radioactive material need to be transported around the pharmacy or plant by staff. Saru manufactures heavy duty, non-flammable and easy to decontaminate lead blankets. These blankets provides shielding against gamma radiation present in the nuclear environement. These multi-purpose lead blankets can be used vertically or horizontally and can even be wrapped around sensitive equipment or plant. The blankets contain lead wool which is tightly packed and designed for added safety.

Saru alongwith its world renowned technical partner designs and manufactures lead lined containers for on-site storage and transport of high radiation dose rate material. These are approved and certified containers that are ideal for radioactive storage and transport. These containers are in the forefront of cutting edge design and safety and are available in a variety of materials like mild carbon steel and stainless steel.

Saru lead lined storage safe is ideal for storing large quantities or high energy radioisotopes and radioactive sources. The safe is lined with 2 inches of lead and encased in a powder coated steel frame. Adjustable shelfs can be provided. The lead lined door is fitted with heavy duty hinges to prevent sagging.

Saru manufactures and supplies various types of Lead woollead rope made to customer specifications and depending upon the application for difficult to access areas. Saru lead wool, a flexible radiation shielding material, is available in special fine, medium and rough grades for highly effective radiation shielding. It is ideal for filling openings where sheet, plate or bricks are not feasible to use.
