Some common properties of rubber cords are as follows:

• Available in various Hardness (Durometer, Shore A: 20 to 80).
• Various colors are available. Natural or any color (translucent or opaque).
• Should avoid prolonged exposure.
• Low compression set requirements.
• Good resistance to oil.
• Good chemical resistance and resistance to alcohols and benzene.
• However not suitable for contact with acetone.
• Good ozone and weather resistant properties.
• Electrically conductive material.
• Low temperature grade suitable for use at -40 degree.

Applications:

• High temperature sealing applications.
• Can be joined to o-rings.
• Food and medical equipment, machinery, transportation.

General Characteristics:

• Suitable for continuous operation at temperatures from -60oF (-50oC) to 400oF (204oC) and for intermittent use from -80oF (-62oC) to 450oF (232oC)
• Red iron-oxide formulations are suitable for continuous use up to 480oF (250oC)
• Depending on media and application useful life at temperatures up to 570oF (300oC) may be obtained
• No harmful toxic or physiological effects
• Chemically extremely stable and suitable for use with many acids and alkalis
• Resistant to ozone, UV and corona discharge

• Food and medical equipment, machinery transportation.     

Availability:

• Normally available from stock in 60ShA, white material in standard sizes and lengths.
• Can be supplied cut to length or joined to o-rings.

Storage of the Products:

• Storage conditions should be maintained according to DIN7716 standards
• Products must be stored in cool, dry places with temperature ranging between 10oC / -20oC, sheltered from the sun and free from ozone, etc
• Avoid contact with hydrocarbons, solvents, acids and alkalies

Nitrile and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR)

• This rubber is used with most oils, hydraulic fluids and alcohol.
• A variety of proprietary compounds are available for specific applications

Applications:

• They are found in shoes, clothing, corsets, curtains, leather, and other fabrics. Grommets that are small in size are called eyelets and are used in clothes.
• Surge protectors, fax/modem lines, electrical wiring outlets and computer cables can be organized properly by using large oval and rectangular grommets.
• Grommets are also used on commercial tarp which is used to cover outdoor furniture, woodpiles or boats, cars etc.
• Cable management means managing large amounts of cabling under floors and this is done by using grommets.
