Urad dal is used as a major ingredient in Indian cuisine for preparing a healthy diet. This dal is one of the richest sources of proteins and Vitamin B.Urad dal is also good for women as it has iron, folic acid, calcium, potassium, niacin, thiamine and riboflavin which makes it a healthy pulse.

Bengal gram is one of the earliest cultivated legumes. In Indian cuisine, it is popularly known as Chana Dal. Bengal gram has good amount of iron, sodium, selenium and small amount of copper zinc and manganese. They are a rich source of protein. They are also a very good source of folic acid and fiber and contain phytochemicals called saponins, which can act as antioxidants.
