Technical information for main components

The Solar Module is Premier Solar manufactured with high efficiency solar cells assembled and laminated at high temperature on a toughened and tempered glass with high transparency. The module typically has a lifespan of over 30- 50 years.
The Regulator is a battery charge regulator with a microprocessor that gives optimal functioning of the street light. Battery charge control with various charge regimes (cyclical, buffer and equalizing charge) in order to guarantee the maximum production and most efficient storage of energy from the solar module. Discharge control ensures optimum performance of the battery, switch off of the lamp if the battery reach a state 75% discharge.
Light sensor for the automatic switch on and off the lamps after sunset and automatic switch off at sunrise.
"PLUS" function which serves as an automatic increase of lighting time of the lamp in accordance with the amount of energy that the battery has stored. This very important function allows adaptation of the period of lighting, dependent on the actual amount of energy captured by the solar module and stored in the battery during the day. After the standard minimum period of 6 hours programmed, the microprocessor will verify the actual state of charge of the battery and, should it still have energy, it will keep the lamp on for the rest of the night.
The regulator has a maximum capacity of 10 Amperes and is equipped with a fuse to protect it from short circuit. It is designed to perform at extreme temperature and humidity conditions and includes a temperature compensation device. It has signals for state of battery charge and eventual fails of the system, and ensures the optimal battery lifetime under all environmental and operational conditions.
The DC/AC ballast serves the SOX lamp, transforming an input current at 12 Volts DC into an AC output of stabilized current at high frequency, suitable to power a large light bulb and typically able to guarantee a durability of over 28000 hours. This ballast can be positioned inside the lamp casing.
The lamp is made of SOX 18W, 35W bulb, with a luminous flow of 2700 lumens, 5200 lumens. Typically the lamp is installed at about 6 meters from ground and its light generates a 18-20 meter diameter cone of light.

Solar Pool Heating Design Basics

Low pressure is the bottom line when it comes to setting solar up for long term reliability. You can't expect a thin plastic collector to withstand extreme temperatures, thermal movement, aging etc all in combination with stress from pressure in the water. Take away the pressure and you compromise NOTHING. You simply allow the system to operate stress free the way it is intended and you've removed the source for problems. We end up solving other problems in this process and creating a harmonious smooth operating pool mechanical system. Easy to say. Not nearly as simple as you might think to accomplish.

This is our most common solar design for a simple pool without a spa and without "in-floor" cleaning built in where the collectors are elevated up at least one storey. This design requires that the pressure where solar ties in is low.
