Contact SupplierScaling is the process of deposition of particles on a membrane which eventually causes it to plug. An RO Antiscalant is a pretreatment water additive for reverse osmosis system employed to prevent the membranes from scaling. An Antiscalant is injected in the water before it enters the reverse osmosis membrane and is sent the through the system. These chemicals, then create a time delay between the bicarbonate and the calcium magnesium. The delay caused due to the R.O. Antiscalant makes sure that the water passes through the membrane before any chemical reaction, in which scale can form, occurs. The scales formed are generally inorganic in nature consisting of calcium, magnesium, barium, strontium, fluoride, iron and silica. These chemicals deters the efficiency of R.O. making it ineffective to produce safe water mainly for drinking applications. The Antiscalant RO, when used continuously over a period of time, ensures 80% reduction in scaling tendencies. Its action occurs in 3 primary ways. The first is its ability to keep supersaturated solutions of springly soluble salts, which is known as threshold inhibition. The second is its property to distort crystal shapes which results in a soft non-adherent scale. This property is known as crystal modification and it aids in distorting the scale crystals which are more oval in shape. The third ability of Dispersion due to which antiscalants are adsorbed on crystals and hence impart a high ionic change.
Surgical House provides Antiscalant for RO available in high pH and low pH type. The hospital grade makes it suitable to be opted for medical applications as well.
