Our Products
Our Complete range of products are Rubber Gaskets, PTFE Gaskets, Ceramic Gaskets, PTFE Moulded Items and Pure Graphite Sheets and Gaskets.
Rubber has good resistance to mild acids and alkalis, salts and chlorine solutions. It has poor resistance to oils and solvents and is not recommended for use with ozone. Its temperature range is very limited.
PTFE Gaskets are cut from virgin PTFE sheets, or moulded rods, tubes etc.PTFE has the best chemical resistance among known plastics. It also has good aging stability, electrical insulation, wear resistance, and extremely low friction coefficient. The unloaded operating temperature range is -180+260C.
MaterialPTFE gasket is one of the most suitable types of gaskets for a variety of sealing applications. Different types of PTFE gaskets are available to meet various application demands.
Ceramic Paper/Felt is an amazing alternative for high temperature Gaskets. Ceramic Gaskets offer heat resistivity of more than 1260 Deg C. However they handle pressure extremely poor. We generally do not recommend Ceramic Gaskets for pressure above 5 Bar. Additionally, due to the porosity of the Gasket, this can only be used for Exhaust, Air Ductlines sealing only. It is more of an Insulating seal rather than a pure Sealing Gasket.
It is PTFE gasket with filler materials such as glass fiber, carbon fiber and graphite etc. Improved mechanical and processing properties can be additionally reached by combination of virgin PTFE and different fillers.See details in the product page Filled PTFE Articles.
MaterialAccording to standards of ASME B16.5, DIN, etc. Special sizes and shapes are also available upon request
Graphite gaskets are made from homogeneous graphite, reinforced by metal mesh, foil or tanged metal. It offers excellent sealing capabilities such as thermal stability, self-lubrication, corrosion resistance, not being brittle and aging etc. It has long life and less maintenance is required under very extreme conditions. The rimmed metal gasket is an improvement from pure cut gaskets. The metal foils rimmed at inner and outer edges offer a special protection against blowout and chemical corrosion for the gasket, and increase the pressure resistance capability.
MaterialVarious shapes are available, used in petrochemical, mining, vessels, boilers, piping and ducts, pumps and valves, flanges etc. Suitable for steam, mineral oil, heat transfer oil, hydraulic oil, fuel, water, seawater, freshwater etc.
Spiral wound gasket (SWG) consists of thin metal hoop and nonmetal filler material that are simultaneously wound. The metal hoop is pre-formed in V or W shaped profile, which allows the gasket to act as a spring between the flanges. The hoop also provides the basic structural element for the gasket while the nonmetal filler material seals the flange surfaces that are with small imperfections.Depending on its excellent compression resilience, it is suitable for sealing spots where the alteration of temperature and pressure are frequent. It can be used as the static sealing element of pipe, valve, pump, thermal exchange, condensing tower, plain hole and man hole of flange, etc. It has been widely applied in the fields of petrochemical, mechanical manufactory, power station, metallurgy, shipbuilding, pharmaceutical, nuclear power station and navigation, etc
ApplicationAvailable in a full range of styles and materials, our spiral-wound gaskets are manufactured in accordance with ASME B 16.20 for use in all industry flanges, including ASME B16.5 and ASME B 16.47, Series A&B. Leader GT assures strict adherence to these specifications as routine inspectionprocedures are applied throughout the manufacturing process. In addition, we maintain traceability of all materials used in our gasket construction to provide material certifications as required
Non-Asbestos Gaskets are made from a mixture of Aramid, Carbon Fiber, Mineral Fiber, Glass Fiberand NBR, SBR, EPDM, Hypalon Rubber. Vegetable fiber Gaskets are very low cost alternative and though economical will never give the same performance as the Aramid nonAsbestos Gaskets or even the old Asbestos Gaskets. Non-Asbestos Gaskets are also referred to as 100% AsbestosFree Gaskets. Recommend demanding proper certification for Product, Manufacturing Plant & Medium compatibility.
Aramid based Gasketsoffer 5X Times better performance than even CAF Gaskets. Inspite of this, Vegetable Fiber Gaskets beingeconomically comparable to CAF are erroneously used. These Gasket Sheets manufactured by paper making techniques utilizing plant fibers and a glue-glycerine impregnation can only be used for sealing simple solutions with lowpressure and low temperatures. Its maximum temperature limit is 250F (120C) and pressure (35 Bar). While, Aramid and Glass FIber Sheets can even go all the way upto 600 Deg C (API 607) certified and offer better acid and alkali protection. Aramid Sheets offer the best performance for general applications involving pressure of more than 50 Bar. Carbon Fiber based Sheets offer the best performance in Acidic environments.
Metallic reinforcementis not required in nonAsbestos Gaskets. We offer Donit Tesnit (Made in Europe) 100% AsbestosFREE Certified nonAsbestos Gaskets.
Asbestos Free Gaskets are similar to non-Asbestos Gaskets but if the Manufacturing Plant is not certified 100% Asbestos Free, these Asbestos Free Gaskets might contain traces of Asbestos.
All nonAsbestos Gaskets are Asbestos Free Gaskets but all Asbestos Free Gaskets might not be nonAsbestos. Whether traces of Asbestos is acceptable or not in the product depends upon company policy. Most Manufacturers will provide a declaration certifying the Product as 100% Asbestos Free and the Manufacturing Plant also as 100% Asbestos Free for proper QC. The abscene of these certification or avoidance of using the term 100% can be due totraces of Asbestos inthe product.
The common standard in India is usage of Carcinogenic Asbestos Fiber (or CAF) based Gaskets. Ring Gaskets are also sometimes called as Slip-on Flanges and convenient and easy to replace. They are consumed in Sheets form or in pre cut rings form. However, pleasenote, usage of Asbestos is against the health and Safety of your fellow employees and Company OHSAS Policy.
Asbestos is extremely dangerous and even in the bonded form still releases the dangerous fibers when Cut, Sawn, Grinded or removal of old & used Gaskets from the flange.
Proper PPE & Instructions as perIS 11791 Part 3must be followed for safe usage of CAF Gaskets. Extreme care must be taken when removing them from the Pipe Flanges to ensure zero dust.
Additionally, as perIS 12081, pictorial warning has to be displayed on the equipment containing Asbestos Products.A complete ban on Asbestos products is being considered bythe Hon PM Narendra Modi Government in Factories and Industries. (link)Dangers of using Asbestos at the Workplace:YouTube
We highly recommend moving to a safer 100% AsbestosFREE Certified nonAsbestos Gaskets. They are not only cheaper from a lifecycle perspective, but work atleats 5X times better than CAF.
