The Kishan Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited was registered as a Central Cooperative Society on 25th September 1980. Presently, it is governed by West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 2006 and the West Bengal Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2011. Kishan Milk Union was formed by the National Dairy Development Board under the Operation Flood II programme for the socio-economic development of rural milk producers of Nadia district. The operational area of the Kishan Milk Union is Nadia district.
Motto: To spread Dairy Co-operative movement in Nadia district.
The Kishan Milk Union organizes village level dairy cooperative societies (DCS) and provides every infrastructural facility, including milk testing equipment & chemicals, milk cans, furniture, etc. for collection of quality milk from the producer members. The Kishan Milk Union makes the payment for milk procured to the bank account of the DCS on a 10-days cycle. As a part of clean milk production programme of the Kishan Milk Union, the producer members are provided with stainless steel milk pails and training for scientific management of milch animals and hygienic milk production practices. Out of 1250 villages of Nadia district, 465 villages have been covered by the Kishan Milk Union by forming 250 dairy cooperative societies.
While walking on the road of quality management of milk, several societies are provided with Bulk Milk Cooler Units (BMCU) in the cluster form time to time. The Kishan Milk Union has installed Automatic Milk Collection Units (AMCU) to bring more transparency in milk procurement systems and to create more faith among producer members. Kishan Milk Union has also established 12 milk collections cum chilling units at strategic locations throughout the district.

250 functional Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCS), including 109 women DCS.
63 functional Artificial Insemination (AI) centers.
Supplying milk to Mother Dairy Calcutta, Central Dairy & Haringhata Dairy.
Implementing National Dairy Plan – I (Village Based Milk Procurement System I,II & III and Ration Balancing Programme), Women Empowerment Scheme, Clean Milk Production Project.
Regular supply of balanced cattle feed, deworming medicines, vitamins, mineral mixture, vaccines and fodder seeds to the milk producers either free of cost or subsidized rates.
Processing & marketing of pouch milk (Cow Milk, Double Toned Milk & Toned Milk), Dahi, Paneer & Ghee in the brand name of “Kishan Milk.”
