This cutting oil forms a milky emulsion with water and contains anti-rust agent. This has cooling and lubricating properties which gives good surface finish and reduce tool wear. It is used in concentration of 5% to 10% depending on the severity of machining. For stable emulsion oil should be added to water and not water to oil. It meets BIS 1115-1991 specifications and is recommended for cutting operations on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

TAP 563 is an emulsifier for soluble cutting oils having additional antirust properties basically due to special type of rust inhibitor chemistry incorporated into the formulations. It meets IS 1115 - 1986 when formulating cutting oils at 16 - 18 % w/w treat level in suitable base oils.
It also gives excellent performance in emulsifiable rolling oils and similar applications because of its friction modifying properties & excellent emulsion stability when formulated in water of hardness up to 1000 ppm.
