The stepping motor is an electromagnetic device which converts digital pulses into discrete mechanical rotational movements. In rotary step motor, the output shaft of motor rotates in equal increments, in response to a train of input pulses. Its main features are instantaneous starting, stopping and reversing characteristics. There are no burnouts due to locked rotor, rotor can be locked at particular position, can be over driven without any damage .
