Pomegranate fruit is one of the most popular, nutritionally rich fruit with unique flavour, taste, and heath promoting characteristics. A small tree growing 6 to 10 m high, the pomegranate has multiple spiny branches, and is extremely long-lived, with some specimens in India surviving for 200 years. After the pomegranate is opened by scoring it with a knife and breaking it open, the seeds are separated from the peel and internal white pulp membranes.

Pomegranate can be recognized by its round shape, hard and shiny yellow or red coloured skin and by it that contains around 600 small edible seeds. The edible seeds have a red, fleshy cover and have a sweet/sour flavour. Both the seeds and flesh are embedded in a clear membrane. Although the membrane is also edible, it has no flavour and is typically not eaten.

It is a good source of soluble and insoluble dietary fibers, providing about 4 g per 100 g (about 12% of RDA), which aid in smooth digestion. Total antioxidant strength of pomegranate fruit measured in terms of its oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) is 2341 mol TE/100 g. Regular consumption of pomegranate has also been found to be effective against prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), diabetes, and lymphoma.

Mango is the worlds most popular fruit and is referred to as the King of Fruits. Originally from India, mangoes have been around for over 5, 000 years. Mangoes are excellent source of vitamins A, C and Fibre. Vitamin A promotes healthy vision and bone growth where as Vitamin C promotes healthy immune system. Mangoes are rich in potassium which can help reduce the risk of high blood pressure. There are over hundred varieties of mangoes found in India. The two varieties of mangoes from India that are exported throughout the world and available for purchase on our website are known as Alphonso mangoes and Kesar mangoes.

Kesar Mangoes:

Kesar variety of mangoes are considered to be one of the best mangoes, which are famous for their fruit quality, attractiveness fruit and pulp colour, taste & good shelf life. Kesar mangoes are mostly grown in Gujarat, Western India. Kesar Mangoes are commonly known as the queen of Mangoes. This variety is slightly smaller in size as compared to the Alphonso mango variety but offers a unique taste.

Characteristics: Size-medium. Shape-oblong shaped. Colour-fruit having a red mush on its shoulders. Flavour delightful, sweet juice. Usage-table purpose and for making pulp, juice, nectars, squashes, jams, concentrates and etc. Very often mangoes (ripe or unripe) also find a place of glory in the list of ingredients for an exotic dish.
