This custom-designed, right-angle overmolded cable assembly attaches to a portable auxiliary heart pump. Partnering with our customers engineers led to a proprietary molded cable assembly that incorporates off-the-shelf components with our custom-molded alternating rib, flex relief. Since this is a new product and actual demand in the marketplace is unknown, we designed the tooling to meet the customers current low-volume requirement and cost target. As demand for the product grows, the mold is scalable, and additional flex-relief cavities will be added to the tool to increase production output.
