We think outside of the box and get excited to work on unique designs that are outside of the industry standard.Compression springs lay at the foundation of Sterling Spring's history and with the introduction of CNC technology we have been able to reduce our setup times, improve our ability to meet tight tolerances and increase the versatility of spring shapes and sizes made directly off our machinery. We have the ability to make cylindrical, conical, barrel and magazine compression springs that can be manufactured with closed or open ends with our in-house grinding department prepared to meet all of your spring- end grinding needs. We are equipped to run wire sizes ranging from .003" to over a half an inch in diameter with outside diameter production capabilities that exceed five inches and have no boundaries on the length of your spring.

The complex double torsion spring shown here features multiple bends, angles, lengths and dimensions that is made complete off of one of our open-faced CNC wire formers. Our skilled operators incorporate the use of a special robot arm attachment that enhances our machinery's capability and allows our machine to handle the intricate bending required for this part. The use of positional probes allows the machine to check angle dimensions and will automatically shut the machine off if the probed angles are not attained which is a big aid in ensuring top notch quality. This part displays Sterling Spring's dedication to technology and drive to keep our customer's costs as low as possible. By making this part complete off of the machine, we are greatly reducing lead times and are eliminating labor costs that come with the need for secondary operations. The cost savings is huge as we ship over 150, 000 of these parts per year to our customer that specializes in the containment industry.
