Western Consolidated Technologies has over 40 years experience in the manufacture of backup rings. Backup rings are critical components in sealing applications. They provide protection to o-rings that might be subjected to high pressures, high temperatures or large extrusion gaps. A backup ring is designed to fit between the o-ring and the extrusion gap and prevent the extrusion of the o-ring. Depending upon the direction of pressure in the sealing application, either 1 backup ring or 2 backup rings may be required.
