Flowmeters

MagFlux Flowmeters are developed for measurements in all types of conductive liquids, including measurement of flow in drinking water, wastewater, sludge and process water. MagFlux Flowmeters are manufactured with carbon steel and stainless steel for flange or wafer connections and lining in hard or soft rubber and PTFE/PFA.

MagFlux flowmeters

MagFlux Flowmeters are designed with the latest microprocessor technology to ensure accurate measurements.

The Display is unique in its design in which it can be mounted in three different ways: locally on the sensor, remotely on a wall or mounted in a panel door. Furthermore, a single Display can operate up to 4 Flow Converters and Sensors.MagFlux Flowmeter has a very userfriendly menu structure with all instructions in clear text - no symbols or codes are used.

MagFlux Flowmeters, Converters and Displays are supplied with a technically advanced enclosure made of glass reinforced polycarbonate giving maximum protection against harsh industrial environments.

Using a basic rule of the electro physics

MagFlux electromagnetic flow meters are using one of the basic rules of the electro physics for measurement.

MagFlux measures the velocity of the fluid through the flow sensor. Since the sensor is manufactured as a pipe, it is easy to calculate the flow when the dimension of the pipe is known

Q = (DN/2)2 x x v , where

Q is the flow rate DN is the pipe inner diameter is 3.14 V Is the velocity the fluid moves through the pipe

Ultrasonic Flow Meter

The Global Water FM500 ultrasonic flow meters provide accurate and trouble free flow metering for a wide range full pipe applications including: potable water, raw wastewater, effluent, well water, slurries, or virtually any sound conducting liquid. The FM500 ultrasonic flow meter incorporates the latest ultrasonic technology to give you an accurate, easy to use hybrid flow meter with selectable Doppler or transit-time operating modes

With its quick and easy clamp-on transducer installation, factory pre-configuration and user programmable menu driven interface, the ultrasonic flow meters are a snap to commission in the field. The reliable FM500 ultrasonic flow meters use custom algorithms and DSP technology to ensure high accuracy flow metering, and the proprietary AGC (Automatic Gain Control) algorithm eliminates the need for manual gain adjustments.

  • Clean or dirty water applications with selectable modes
  • Quick and easy setup and operation
  • Clamp-on transducers never contact process liquid
  • Built in data logger downloads to standard SD card
  • Fully configurable analog and pulse outputs

Ultrasonic Flow Meter's Great FeaturesLoaded with the features, the FM500 ultrasonic flow meters include: five programmable and password protected configurations for multiple user and portable applications, an easy to read 320 x 240 pixel backlit LCD display, data logging to standard SD Card format (user configurable to time interval, flow rate and total set-point triggers), isolated 4-20mA analog and 0-1000Hz pulse outputs.

Ultrasonic Flow Meter's Optional FeaturesOptional features include: three configurable relay outputs and a communications package that allows the ultrasonic flow meter to connect to your computer via RS-232, RS-485, USB or Ethernet. The ultrasonic flow meter's communication package also permits remote access and control of all functions including real-time display, system configuration, data logging, remote data capture and process control functions. The software included with the ultrasonic flow meter's communication package allows remote internet access through a local network set-up.

Custom Configured Ultrasonic Flow MetersThe FM500 ultrasonic flow meters can be configured for your specific pipe and process liquid application so that it is ready to go out of the box. We will need the following information for configuration purposes:

  • Pipe size (ID), material and schedule (EG: 3 inch schedule 40 PVC)
  • Process liquid being measured (EG: raw wastewater)
  • Volumetric and time units to be displayed (EG: US gallons/minute)
  • Language displayed (EG: English)

How The Ultrasonic Flow Meters WorkThe Sonic-Pro series Hybrid Ultrasonic Flow Meters can measure fluid flow in virtually any fluid in which sound waves can travel. The Ultrasonic Flow Meters are considered "hybrid" because they can measure fluid flow using either the Doppler or Transit Time methods. The Sonic-Pro ultrasonic flow meter's sound transducers are clamped to the outside of the pipe wall and include no moving parts. This method of flow measurement is safe, non-intrusive and very easy to service.

The Ultrasonic Flow Meter's Doppler measurement method requires particles be present in the flow stream to "reflect" the sound waves. The ultrasonic flow meter may not read flow correctly when using the Doppler mode if the fluid contains no particles. For best results 0.02% to 15% (200 to 150, 00 ppm) particles should be present in the flow stream.

The Ultrasonic Flow Meter's Transit Time measuring method requires relatively "clean" fluid to enable the sound waves to complete their circuit. The Ultrasonic Flow Meters may be operated in the Transit-Time mode when the fluid contains 0% to 10% (0 to 100, 000 ppm) of particles. To allow for changes in the fluid's particle count, the Sonic-Pro Ultrasonic Flow Meters monitor the signal gain and employ an Automatic Gain Control (AGC) algorithm that periodically adjusts the gain to maintain the optimum power level.

The speed at which sound travels in the fluid must be known. The factory will configure the ultrasonic flow meter for a known fluid during the initial configuration. The Sonic-Pro Ultrasonic Flow Meters include a 5-button user interface that can be used to configure the meter. Many common fluids are listed in The Ultrasonic Flow Meter's software and can be selected directly from the menu. Provided the speed of sound in the fluid is known, custom "unknown" fluids can be input into the ultrasonic flow meters manually by the user. A list of various fluids and their sound speeds are provided in the ultrasonic flow meter's user manual.
