elmex "C" Series (TS32 mm) DIN Rail Mounted Stud Type Terminals in Melamine Housing are specifically developed for termination using Ring / Fork Type Lugs and provide a very reliable connection against vibration. They are available in two types : 1) Screw driver operated 2) Nut driver operated The range covers terminals for conductor sizes from 0.5 sq mm to 35 sq mm. All the metal parts used are of brass (copper alloy) which make them suitable for use in applications like switch boards, switch yards, marshaling racks etc., generally exposed to environmental extremities. Transparent protective covers are used for shrouding live parts in the terminals.
Certain Application in Control and Mesearurement circuits necessiate locating operating faults quickly without disconnecting the conductors. elmex offers a range of disconnecting type terminal blocks which can be used to disconnect the continuity without actually removing the wires. Thee Terminal Blocks mainly find applications in secondary Circuit of CT, Relay Panels etc. A clearly visible Sliding Link is used for disconnection. The link can be moved to one side by unscrewing. The tightening of the screw prevents it from sliding back. The 4 mm diameter nut assembly can be used as test socket.
Power (Bus-Bar) Terminals Type CBT 110, 170, 250 and 300 with rated currents of 110, 170, 250 and 300 Amps suitable for cables with Ring / Fork type lugs are available in Melamine Housing. The lugs are bolted to the current bars using standard spanners in types CBT110T upto 300T, the current bar is tapped and the fixing bolt has slotted head, which allows use of screw-driver for bolting. This is useful where space is a constraint. The Melamine Terminals are available for terminating 35 sq mm to 95 sq mm cables. Partition / Barrier Plates are used for increased Creepage Distance between adjacent terminals. Slots are provided in the Barrier Plates to facilitate the mounting of Transparent Protective Cover shrouding the live parts. Protection and Safety For increased creepage distance and safety against accidental contact, partition plates / barrier plates are assembled along with the terminal block. Protective transparent covers are assembled at the slots provided on the barrier plates. This provisions make the assembly fully safe, while simultaneously offering open design of terminals for connection fork / ring lugged cables.
elmex offers a new design type SPT in which hinged covers are provided over the cable termination points.Cables with fork or ring lugs are connected by nuts to the terminal after lifting hinged covers which are closed after the connection is completed. These are Finger-safe Terminals by design, not requiring covers or barrier plates, for safety or protection. Their housing is Polyamide 66 and currently available with 35 sq mm and 70 sq mm connection capacity, and with rated currents of 140 Amps and 192 Amps respectively. Hinged covers are available in various colours as required optionally.
elmex Micro Terminal Blocks are small in size and light in weight, yet functionally same as Standard Terminal Blocks. They are specially developed for installation where space is extremely limited but the same cable density is required as in a normal situation. They can be mounted on TS 15 Rail, which is also smaller, lighter and more economical than TS 32 and TS 35 Rails. The terminals are recommended for use in industries like elevators, automation etc.
elmex Multi Level Terminals are the perfect solution where space is a constraint and high density wiring is needed. The compact design of these Terminals with 6 mm thickness allows double wiring density and reducing the total number of terminal blocks to half. elmex three level terminal blocks can be used for high-density wiring and for wiring special equipment's such as proximity sensors. elmex 8-level terminal block type DS8L offers very good wiring density particularly for marshaling applications where large number of wires are to be terminated and space is a constraint. Screwless multi-level terminal block wire termination is by spring clamp mechanism. Spring clamps are made using special grade austenitic stainless steel material having very good spring properties, high fatigue strength, high tensile strength and better resistance to corrosion effects.

AE SYNCHROSCOPE is categorized into two types A) Electro-mechanical and B) Electronic.
Electromechanical Type :
It incorporates a POINTER and LED to indicate synchronising condition. If the generator- (II) frequency is higher or lower than that of mains- (I) the pointer rotates in clockwise or anti-clockwise direction respectively. The speed and direction of rotation depends upon difference in frequencies, which guides the operator to speed-up or slow-down the generator. Synchronising condition is determined by dark lamp method, wherein the pointer coincides with synchronising mark and the LED does not glow. The LED glows in accordance with difference in phase, frequency and amplitude of voltages. When the pointer is towards the bright LED, it indicates the antiphase condition.

It incorporates circle of LEDs which glows sequentially in either clockwise or anti-clockwise direction at variable speed in accordance with difference in frequencies of mains & generator. Synchronising condition is indicated by the glowing LED of SYNCHRO ON position. Antiphase condition is indicated by glowing LED of SYNCHRO OFF position at the bottom. Vibrations adversely affect terminal connection, causing loosening of conductors and consequent overheating of terminal blocks. elmex Terminal Blocks are therefore designed to be inherently resistant to vibrations in normal applications. However, high vibrations can arise due to vibration affected installation sites, such as installations in and around mines, proximity to heavy machine shop, forging/ die casting shops, cement/steel plants machinery, textile machines and so on. Special designs for high vibration applications are also preferred in some Power Projects, Power Distribution Centers, Motor Control Centers and Relay Control Panels. depending on proximity of vibration generating equipment. elmex Standard Screw Clamp design, with compression springs, provided under the clamp, offer a reliable solution for high vibration applications of Terminal Blocks. These are called "SPRING LOADED" terminal blocks. FEED THROUGH TYPE: CST 2.5WS, CST 6WS, CSLT 1 The spring is assembled under compression, so that it engages firmly with the contact clamp. For inserting the conductor, clamping screws should be unscrewed and pressed, which results into pushing down the contact clamp against spring action and creates space for conductor insertion below the current bar. When the screw is tightened with specified tightening torque, the clamping part moves to cause gripping of conductor with current bar, as with normal clamping process, but in case of spring loaded design, the conductor is gripped with additional clamping force exerted by the compression spring from below the clamping part. Special design of the current bar with a recess is available to anchor the hook bladed cable lug, in the current bar. This provision creates conductor locking within terminal block once it is clamped, so that it cannot be pulled out accidentally. This design is presently available in CSLT 1.
