Construction The Casing or the outer body is made of thick Mild Steel Sheet (re-inforced with iron angles revelling screwed joints and welding wherever necessary, in High Temperature-Furnaces). Swing/sliding type Door and Peep hole is provided. The casing is finished in Heat & Rust Proof attractive Silver Ash Hammertone spray painting/Heat Resistant Aluminum Paint. Heating Heating Chamber (Muffle) consists of grooved refractory’s (tiles in case of High Temperature) having grooved outer surface on which Kanthal A-1, element in Coil Form (Phenolite or equivalent Silicon carbide heating Rod for High Temperature) is placed in between the Mild Steel Sheet casing and the Heating Chamber. Hot and Cold faced insulating bricks (Kyanite Basel are suitably cemmented forming a Refractory Lining to keep the shell Temperature within 800^oC. (Ceramic Blanket & Ceramic Board is provided in High Temperature Furnaces). Temperature Maximum temperature range shall be up to 1100^oC & 1450^oC.These temperatures can be reached within 2½ hours and 3½ hours respectively (approx.) provided constant voltage of 220V/440V supply is ensured. However, l hour additional will be required to reach the same temperature with a 3 kg Refractory sample. Continuous working Temperature should not however increase 1050^oC & 1400^oCrespectively beyond 30 minutes maximum. ±10^oC temperature uniformity in the chamber is maintained. Controls A pyrometer Indicator with "Sunvic" Energy control Indicator connected with Chromel/Alumel Thermocouple and suitable compensating Cable OR a Solid state Digital Indicator Cum Controller having a range of up to 1200^oC/1600^oC controls and indicates the temperature. Panel Box An electrical control panel box consisting of indicating neon lamps for main and control circuits, relay, energy regulator, thermal fuse for excess temperature protection, mains cut-out, ON/OFF switch & main cord and a plug top for direct connection to laboratory mains are provided. High Temperature Furnaces will however, have Voltmeters, Ammeters & Voltage Selector Switches as indicated in the table. Besides, this furnace will also have a Stepdown Auto Transformer & Air Break Magnetic contactor. The transformer shall have a generous over voltage allowance in order to provide a reserve for ageing of the heating rod in low voltage. Power 220/440 Volts AC single/triple phase, 50 HZ.
