Ltd., New Delhi) as a small scale industry and we have executed many tenders for Silica Gel issued by D.G.S. & D., New Delhi, D.S & d, Kanpur, India Navy, Bombay and Vishakhapatnam during the last thirty years. These are available in following categories :Blue Silica Gel (Indicator Type)White Silica Gel (Without Indicator)Mixed Silica Gel.

This has high absorption efficiency and absorbs water and all condensable vapours whose boiling point is above 10C, however it does not contain any indicator and so it is not easy to ascertain whether it has completely absorbed moisture or not. The absorption efficiency of Silica Gel is about 65%.

Indicator Type:In this variety, all the particles of Silica Gel are impregnated with an Indicator. When free from moisture, the particles are blue in colour and it is packed at this state in air tight container. While in use as the particles pick up moisture, Silica Gel gradually turns pink and gives a ready indication to the user that it has done its work and requires replacement or regeneration, Pink Silica Gel turns blue when heated to a temperature of 150C, after drying in sun and can be regenerated indefinite number of times without any loss in absorption efficiency.

This contains 5% Blue and 95% White Silica Gel. Blue grains, uniformly dispersed in the whole mass, turn pink on absorption of moisture and give ready indication about completion of absorption of moisture as in Blue Silica Gel mentioned above. It serves the same purpose as Indicator type Silica Gel and is comparatively cheaper.
