Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger

Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers are widely used for liquid to liquid and liquid to gas applications such as oil cooling, condensing, jacket water or gas cooling. Baffles Cooling System can design, fabricate and supply complete Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers in any size or configuration. Our Shell & tube heat exchanger range includes hydraulic oil coolers, marine oil coolers, charge air coolers and swimming pool heat exchangers, all of which feature a fully floating tube bundle designed to prevent fatigue from thermal expansion and improve serviceability. Our shell and tube heat exchangers are designed to be as flexible as possible. By changing the materials of the headers and tubes, the heat exchangers can be used in freshwater and marine environments. We can also adjust the number of fluid passes on both circuits ensuring that the heat exchanger can perform at its most optimal level before increasing the size. This can improve efficiency and reduce costs for our customers. For more specialist requirements however we can design shell and tube heat exchangers with unique characteristics making them a perfect fit for your equipment

Plate Type Heat Exchanger

Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger

Brazed plate heat exchangers offer the highest level of thermal efficiency and durability in a compact, low cost unit. The corrugated plate design provides very high heat transfer coefficients, resulting in a more compact design. The units stainless steel plates are vacuum brazed together to form a durable, integral piece that can withstand high pressure and temperature. The brazed plate heat exchangers offer a compact design compared to shell and tube exchangers.

Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger

Gasketed plate-and-frame heat exchangers provide efficient heat transfer in compact equipment with a small footprint. The units have a flexible design and are easy to service and maintain. The product range is extremely wide and is used in duties for heating, cooling, heat recovery, evaporation and condensation in industries ranging from HVAC, refrigeration, engine cooling, dairy and food to heavier processes like chemical processing, oil production and power generation.

Air Cooled Heat Exchanger

BCS has designed and supplied over 1, 000 air cooled heat exchangers used worldwide in utilities and industrial applications serving the petroleum, chemical, gas processing, electrical, power generation, environment and steel industries. From small coolers for endothermic engines, for compressors and dryers up to several banks of bundles for vapours condensation and for petrochemical processes. We specialise in supplying both forced draft and induced draft fan type units, specifically designed and manufactured for particular process services. The Air Cooled Heat Exchanger consists of an element(bundle) of finned heat exchange finned tubes over which ambient air is forced or induced by axial fan/fans thereby transferring heat between the fluid within the tubes and the external air. A standard air cooled heat exchanger configuration is a horizontal bundle with fans positioned top or bottom however some applications may require a V-Pack arrangement. Various finned tube types are available including our own however due to the variety of applications and operating conditions we recognise the requirement to procure tube from a number of tube manufacturers as no one or three tube type/material is ideally suited to all applications.

Two type of Air Cooled Heat Exchanger:
  • 1. Induced Draft Air Cooled Heat Exchanger
  • 2. Forced Draft Air Cooled Heat Exchanger
Air cooled heat exchangers are used for two primary reasons:
  • 1. They increase plant efficiency
  • 2. They are a green solution as compared to cooling towers and shell and tube heat exchangers as they do not require an auxiliary water supply which leads to water lost due to drift and evaporation, in addition to it there is no requirement for water treatment chemicals.
