When one is looking to attain noise reduction by the means of a silencer, BCS offers a wide range of vent silencers for pressurized gas for various applications related to acoustic insulation, soundproofing ie., protection of workers against noise, preservation of acoustic environment, limitation of noise emissions in the energy sector. The blowdown of natural gas systems must typically be done quickly in a very short time span during maintenance operations on pipelines. This often produces noise readings well above tolerable levels. Natural gas silencers control blowdown noise through a reactive-absorptive process, which provides good attenuation across all octave frequency bands. The selection and design of natural gas silencers is dependent on the following application specific factors.
We offer a powerful solutions at a reasonable cost in response to all the needs in the matter of soundproofing by means of equipment that is either standard or tailor made for which the quality of design and execution meets the highest level of requirement in this area for an efficient fight against noise. The vent silencers for pressurized gas offered by us allows the reduction of noise for process facilities using pressurized fluids like air, oxygen, nitrogen etc., notably for the chemical industry, oil & gas sector, heavy duty industries and also for power plants
Gas Vent Silencer Features:Blower silencers are required in many applications such as industrial processing and waste water treatment. With a resume that includes hundreds of thousands of blower silencers sold to date, BCS is an industry expert in blower silencing needs. Silencers are a necessity on any blower installation. When selecting a blower silencer, there are two basic considerations the first is that the silencer must be of the correct size and the second is the silencer must be the proper type for the application. The nominal silencer size need only be based on the gas volume. However, the silencer design must be selected with consideration of the blower size and operating speed. In a closed blower discharge system, structure-borne noise such as that radiated by pipe wall and silencer shell may be a consideration, particularly where a strict, close-proximity noise specification applies. For these applications, various solutions are available to treat the pipe- and shell-radiated noise such that most reasonable specifications may be met. For instance, it is possible to lag the silencer shell externally, and reduce any shell noise contribution to below the casing and mechanical noise of the blower and driving machinery.
The centrifugal fan silencers are normally selected on the basis of maximum allowable pressure drop at rated flow and the silencing criteria. These silencers are usually sized for around 5000 to 5500 FPM velocity but not exceeding 7500 FPM velocity to prevent excessive self generated noise and aerodynamic noise generation. While selecting the centrifugal fan silencer, it must be ensured that the flow area throughout the silencer is sufficient to accommodate the air flow without imposing excessive restriction. Centrifugal Fan Silencers must be carefully matched to the fan inlet or outlet air profile to provide the most economical fan noise control with the lowest additional static pressure requirements. Galvanized, stainless steel and painted constructions are all available. Dissipative media filled, media filled with film liner, and No-Media designs are selected to suit the application. Numerous accessories are available for filtering, rain hoods, flow measurement, bird screens, and flange connection types. Baffles Cooling Systems works hard to make sure these concerns are alleviated with proper design regarding Centrifugal fan silencers.
Release of steam to atmosphere creates noise which is dangerous to plant personnel and is environmentally unacceptable. Steam may be released from either low pressure or high pressure as part of boiler start up system, a bypass vent or a safety relief valve vent system. In each case Baffles Cooling System offers the most economical approach by optimizing silencer design to produce a guaranteed solution through selection of silencer pressure drop and flow velocities appropriate to the duty. Not all steam that is vented is dry, so where there is moisture carried in the steam flow BCS can provide a separator element to remove the excess moisture and prevent this hot liquid from being exhausted out through the vent to fall as hot rain in the area surrounding the vent. The pressure drop across the inlet diffuser is selected according to the duty of the silencer, we can examine the pressure losses through the pipework and recommend the most suitable silencer pressure drop for the vent duty. Silencers may be packed or pack free diffuser only types, depending on the duty requirements. Where a packed silencer is needed the packing material will often be chosen from glass fibre, mineral or ceramic fibre as considered appropriate for the operating conditions. The structural design of the our steam vent silencers are given the same thorough attention as its acoustic design. The external shell is constructed of seamless pipe in smaller sizes and continuously welded rolled plate in larger diameter silencers. Silencers may be mounted horizontally or vertically, pads or cradle type supports are available for easy installation.
Turbine engines are used in planes, ships and power stations, but they generate a lot of noise more than 150 dB at 25 metres. Thats beyond the nuisance level its enough to do direct physical harm. In the shipping industry turbine ventilation is of utmost importance because handling toxic exhaust fumes is critical inside an engine room. Industrial plants on land have to deal with the noise challenges in an area where many workers have to operate nearby, so a generator silencer has to be very effective. Our engineered solutions have a number of applications; from general volume minimisation to the management of more unusual noises. Using our own teams of highly skilled engineers we can undertake total turnkey projects from the design stage through installation, commissioning and on-site support.
Reciprocating pumps often suffer from pulsation problems on both the suction and discharge side. Many of the problems can be traced to poor suction conditions where the pressure at the inlet to the pump is less than that required by the pump manufacturer. The suction pressure available at the inlet to the pump is often referred to as either NPSHa (Net Positive Suction Head available) or NPIP (Net Positive Inlet Pressure). Fitment of a BCS Suction Silencer at the pump suction will eliminate all NPSH problems and ensure a smooth running pump.
Controlling noise associated with venting pressurized gases to the atmosphere is a priority for many organisations. It is essential that all installations have the required noise control measures in place that ensures the facility meets with the relevant noise criterion. Vent Silencers also referred to as Blow-down Silencers or blow-off Silencers reduce the noise produced by the venting of pressurised gas to the atmosphere, especially air, steam and other gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. BCS is amount the market leaders in noise control engineering and is one of the premier manufacturers of vent / blow-down / blow-off silencers. Vent Silencer / blow-off / blow-down Silencers from BCS caters for all market needs whether highly specific or to suit a general customer requirement. Our team of skilled engineers use advanced selection software to optimise the best solution in terms of acoustic performance and budget.
