Gabion meshes are divided into cells with diaphragms (usually spaced at 1 meter or 3 intervals), whose function is to reinforce the structure. Galfan Gabion Mesh

he wire diameter is different according to the size of the hexagon. The materials to make gabion mesh can be divided into four types. The first type is the hot-dipped galvanized wire, which can be classified into common hot-dipped galvanizing with the amount of zinc coating 50G/M2 and high galvanizing with the export standard for 250-270G/M2. The second type is the electro galvanized wire. The following type is the PVC coated wire. It can be PVC coated after either electro galvanizing or hot-dipped galvanizing. A variety of colors are available like grey, grass green and dark green, etc. The last type is the Galfan steel wire, which can be divided into Zn-5%Al wire and Zn-10%Al wire. Hot-dipped 10% Zn-Al gabion mesh or hot-dipped 5% Zn-Al gabion mesh (also called Zn-10%Al gabion mesh or Zn-5%Al gabion mesh) is woven with various specifications of 10% (or 5%) Zn-Al alloy low carbon steel wire. Under the same conditions, the hot-dipped 10% Zn-Al alloy steel wire will have a relatively longer service life compared with the 5% Zn-Al alloy steel wire. In order to prolong the service life of the steel wire, a layer of PVC or PE coating will be added on the surface of the steel wire. Advantages of the Galfan Gabion Mesh:Galfan gabion mesh has a high corrosion resistance performance, which is about 2-3 times higher than that of the common galvanized gabion mesh under any conditions whether in the open air or in damp environment.It has a high ductility and deformability. The Galfan steel wire can withstand the test of winding and twisting under powerful deformation processes, and the zinc coating will not peel off.Application:Galfan gabion mesh can be used for slope protection, hillside afforestation, railway and highway fence, etc. It can also be made into gabion box or gabion mattress for the purpose of protecting rivers, dams and seawalls against water erosion.Zinc-aluminium alloy is in recent years emerging as a kind of new coating material on the international market to replace the traditional pure zinc coating. Experiments provide evidence that its corrosion resistance is three times higher than that of the traditional pure zinc coating. Therefore, it is now receiving widespread attention. Nowadays, some developed countries like America and some European countries are trying to replace the traditional zinc coating gabion baskets with 5% Zn-Al alloy gabions. The material of the 5% Zn-Al alloy gabion is 5% Zn-Al alloy steel wire. It is made into hexagonal mesh through weaving and then twisting three times by a special machine. According to the design requirements, the mesh panels may be clipped and then assembled into the form of different wire mesh containers. When the gabions are filled with rocks or stones, they can be used for the protection of embankment, subgrade, and river bank, etc. Another type of Zn-Al alloy gabion is the 10% Zn-Al alloy gabion, which is made from the 10% Zn-Al alloy steel wire. Just like the 5% Zn-Al alloy gabion, it is also a hexagonal mesh woven and twisted by a special machine. The gabion box is finally formed through folding the whole mesh. Its application is nearly the same as that of the 5% Zn-Al alloy gabion, which is mainly used for the protection of subgrade, and embankment, etc. The service life of the Zn-Al alloy gabion is typically about 70 to 80 years, which is 3 times longer than the common galvanized steel wire. It has reached the national standard GB/T 20492-2006. 5% (10%) Zn-Al alloy gabions are mainly applied in damp environment, such as river, sea and other water conservancy projects. Its acid resistance, alkali resistance and corrosion resistance properties are far superior to the common low carbon steel wire products
