Chain Link Fence

Color chain-link fence is sometimes called vinyl or color-coated. In this process, steel wire is first coated with zinc and then covered with a vinyl polymer coating that helps prevent rust and adds color. The vinyl is generally added to both the framework and the fabric of the fence. Some chain-link fence products use an aluminized coating to cover the steel in place of the zinc that creates a highly reflective finish. Regardless of the finish, all chain-link products offer a durable, economical fence system. Here are the things to consider when selecting chain link your fence system: Primary Use - If the system is mainly used to accent your landscaping or define property boundaries, you may be able to use a lighter mesh than if you were containing pets or protecting property. Visual Aesthetics - If you desire a fence system that blends into the environment then you should consider a color coated system. Potential Stress - If their is the potential for climbing, or leaning (dogs) on the fence you may want to consider a heavier mesh than normal. Longevity - If the system is to remain for many years, be sure to consider the finish coating of the mesh. The color coated meshes have a long life expectancy, holding the appearance from day one throughout.Uses: Diamond mesh is used as fencing for sports field, river banks, construction and residence, also animal fencing. Especially, well suitable for a wide range of application, for example for enclosing Lawn, Road. Steel diamond mesh has a heavy galvanized coating to ensure a long life. Characteristic:The Diamond Mesh wire construction is: strong; with wide application convenient instation lower price safe and flexible; does not break; Does not sag or roll up at the bottom.A chain-link fence (also referred to as wire netting, wire-mesh fence, chain-wire fence, cyclone fence, hurricane fence, or diamond-mesh fence) is a type of woven fence usually made from galvanized or LLDPE-coated steel wire. The wires run vertically and are bent into a zig-zag pattern so that each "zig" hooks with the wire immediately on one side and each "zag" with the wire immediately on the other. This forms the characteristic diamond pattern seen in this type of fence. Sizes and usesIn the United States, fencing usually comes in 20 rod and 50 ft rolls which can be joined by "unscrewing" one of the end wires and then "screwing" it back in so that it hooks both pieces. Common heights include 3 ft, 3 ft 6 in, 4 ft, 5 ft, 6 ft, 7 ft, 8 ft, 10 ft, and 12 ft, though almost any height is possible. Common mesh gauges are 9, 11, and 11.5. For tennis courts and ball parks the most popular height is 10 ft. The popularity of chain-link fence is due to its relatively low cost and ease of installation. A further advantage is that due to the open weave, chain-link fences are transparent, and do not obscure sunlight from either side of the fence. If a semi-opaque fence is desired, this can be achieved by the insertion of slats into the mesh. InstallationThe installation of chain-link fence involves setting posts into the ground and attaching the fence to them. The posts may be steel tubing, timber or concrete and may be driven into the ground or set in concrete. End, corner or gate posts, commonly referred to as 'terminal posts', must be set in concrete footing or otherwise anchored to prevent leaning under the tension of a stretched fence. Posts set between the terminal posts are called line posts and are set at intervals not to exceed 10 feet. The fence is attached at one end, stretched, and attached at the other, the excess being easily removed by "unscrewing" a wire. Finally it is tied to the line posts with aluminum wire. In many cases a bottom tension wire, sometimes referred to as coil wire, may be stretched between terminal posts to help minimize the in and out movement that occurs at the bottom of the chain-link mesh between posts. Once stretched, this wire should be secured to the line posts and the chain-link mesh "hog ringed" to the tension wire 2' on center. The installation of this wire is generally done prior to the installation of the chain-link mesh.
