Proving Rings

  • Capacity 250 kgf. 500 kgf. 1000 kgf. 3000 kgf. 5000 kgf.
These proving rings are made out of special steel, carefully forged to give maximum strength & machined to give the highest sensitivities commensurate with high stability and to ensure long life and accuracy. All proving rings are integral type viz. the loading (outside) bosses are forged integral with the ring body. This ensures that there is no possibility of abutment shift and consequent loss of accuracy in reading that always exists in rings with bolted abutments. The dial gauge and anvil are mounted on U-brackets clamped to the ring body by Allen set screws. The dial gauge is fitted with a special back cover and threaded bush which does not permit any shift from the original diametric alignment, coaxial with the loading boss centers, that is set at the factory before calibration. For all compression proving rings and tension compression proving rings up to and including 5 kN capacity (a little over 500 kgf) the loading bosses have female threading, 12" B.S.F. (16 t.p.i.) The boss faces are ground and polished and are lane parallel to within 0.02mm.total D.T.I. run-out. Caps are provided for use when loading in compression. Repeatability is as stipulated in IS : 4169-1967. The rings are supplied complete with dial gauge and our own calibration chart, packed in polished wooden boxes.

Steel Dolley

High Speed Stirrer

A mechanical stirring device in which a suitably mounted induction motor will have a vertical shaft having speed of 6000 to 8000 revolutions per minute when loaded. The shaft will be equipped with a replaceable stirring paddle of either of the types and made of metal. The surface will be of such length that the stirring paddle will operate not less than 20 mm and not more than 35 mm above the bottom of the dispersion cup. The dispersion cup will be supported on a rest and shall have a removable baffle. A special dispersion cup conforming to either of the designs shown in IS 2720 (Part IV) 1985 will be provided to hold the sample while it is dispersed. The stirrer will be free from vibration whilst operation and the base will be made of M.S. of at least size 20 cm X 25 cm with rubber cushions. The container and baffle will be of such material as not be affected by the reagents like sodium Carbonate, Sodium silicate , Sodium Hexametaphosphate etc. The stirrings device will be suitable for operation on 230-250 Volts A C with controller switch for different revolution. It will be provided with 3 core wiring of with off-on switch on side. The dimensions of stirring paddles for stirring apparatus and dispersion cup will be as per IS 2720(Part IV)1985

Soil Hydrometer

There will be no abrupt changes in the cross section of the hydrometer, that will hinder cleaning or drying or permit air bubble to be trapped. The graduation of hydrometer will be on the basis of liquid having a surface tension of 55 dynes/cm. The graduation lines will be at intervals of 0.0005, every alternate line will extend beyond the shortest lines; every tenth graduation will exceed that of all the intervening lines and will be numbered in full. The basis of the scale will be density (g/ml) at 27' deg C. The maximum permissible scale error on the hydrometer is plus or minus one scale division.

Pressure Differential Manometer will indicate the pressure behind the HEPA FILTER and after few years, the pressure will be more because of accumulation of dusts at the upstream side. Once the pressure level indicates above 22 mm WG in the manometer or the velocity at the downstream side falls below 60 feet per minute, the filters may be replaced. The velocity can be monitored by using external anemometer.

Concrete Test Hammer

Often, existing concrete structures will need to be examined and tested to ensure the concrete remains of adequate strength and durability. Rebound hammer surveys can be conducted to provide a rough estimate of concrete strength, where it is not possible to determine this by more accurate means such as core extraction and testing.


The test involves using a special rebound hammer, which measures the recoil of a piston against the concrete surface when a standard force is applied. This recoil can then be correlated approximately to concrete strength.


General Description & Specifications

The rebound hammer consists of a barrel in which is housed a hammer mass attached to an impact spring which slides on a guide bar. A plunger is attached to the guide bar which is pressed against the surface to be tested. As the piston is pressed against the surface to be tested, on reaching the compressive strength, the hammer mass is released and rebounds to a certain extent, according to the strength of the surface, which is indicated by a rider on a calibrated scale. A lock button fixed on the body of the hammer lock the rider in place and the rider can be reset to zero Position by using the same button. The equivalent compressive strength can be computed from the chart supplied. It is suitable for specimen of compressive strengths 100-700Kg/cm. The instrument, complete with a grinding stone for polishing the test surface, is supplied in carrying case.

Hand Operated :

Cement Autoclave

After it has set, cement must not undergo any appreciable expansion, which could disrupt a mortar or concrete. This property of soundness is tested by subjecting the set cement to boiling in water or to high-pressure steam. Unsoundness can arise from the presence in the cement of too much free magnesia or hard-burned free lime

This method covers determination of the autoclave expansion of Portland cement by means of a test of neat cement paste specimens, 25.4 X 25.4 X 285.8mm, which are moist cured for 24 hours +/- 1-1/2 hours and then exposed to action of steam under specified pressure for 3 hours. The rate at which pressure is increased in the beginning the test and released in the test are specified. Linear expansion is measured by micrometer comparator.

General Descripation & Specifications

The Autoclave is double walled. Inner boiler chamber of stainless steel cylinder, with concealed yet easily replaceable heaters surrounding the vessel for quick heating. The boiler lid is of thick stainless steel and can be bolted to the chamber by heavy hexagonal nuts. The silicon gasket, seated in a groove, makes the unit leak proof even at high pressure. In the process of compaction, efforts are only directed to reduce voids in the compacted concrete. The Vibrators produce vibrations which when transmitted to plastic concrete make it to flow and affect compaction. The air bubbles are forced out of concrete due to vibrations.

The Needle Vibrator, also known as immersion or poker vibrator have a power unit and long flexible tube at the end of which a vibrating head is attached. Wherever compaction is to be done, the vibrating head is inserted in the concrete.

Laboratoty Pulverizer is a disc type grinder, designed to grind virtually any material to produce a fine mesh sample in one operation. Automatic Marshal Compactor

This Equipment is to speed up the process with ease and accuracy to prepare cylindrical specimens for Marshal Stability Testing Machine. The compactor has been designed to simulate hand compaction as described in ASTM D1559. This apparatus automatically compacts the sample and stops after preset number of blows has been completed. The Compactor gives Uniformly and accurately compacted marshal moulds for reliable testing.


General Descripation & Specification

It is a motor driven mechanical compactor useful for compaction into 100 mm dia moulds. It is fitted with a compaction rammer of 98.5mm dia, weighing 4.535 kg. with a free fall of 457 mm. The rammer assembly is provided with a ratchet and pawl arrangement to lift it from the top of the test sample. When the rammer reaches the required height the pawl release the rammer which falls freely on test specimen. The release mechanism is connected by an arm moving up and down which is connected to a reduction gear coupled to the motor through another arm. Core Drilling Machine

Often, existing concrete structures will need to be examined and tested to ensure the concrete remains of adequate strength and durability. This test is used to determine the compressive strength of a concrete core, which has usually been extracted from an existing structure. The value of compressive strength can then be used in conjunction with other measured properties to assess the condition of the concrete.

Extraction of concrete cores, achieved by rotary drilling using a diamond tipped hollow barrel, serve as a means of taking a sample of concrete which can then be used to determine various physical properties, but most commonly compressive strength.
