Black pepper comes from pepper plant, a smooth woody vine that can grow up to 33 feet in hot and humid tropical climates. They begin to bear small white clustered flowers after 3 to 4 years and develop into berries known as peppercorns. Ground peppercorns produce the spice known as pepper.
Black pepper has many health benefits. It is considered good for weight loss as it contains chemical compound called piperine which is good for weight loss. It also gives relief from respiratory disorders, coughs, the common cold, constipation, indigestion, anemia, impotency, muscular strains, dental disease, diarrhea and heart disease.
