Pin Fin Apparatus The Pin Fin Apparatus is designed to determine heat transfer from an extended surface (Pin). It consists of a metallic pin-fin which is heated at one end by electric heater. The heat is conducted along the length & is flows out from the pin surface. Five thermocouples are embedded along the length of the pin to measure the temperature distribution, one more thermocouple is placed inside the suction duct to measure the air temperature. A blower provides forced convection of air by blowing the air at high velocity. Flow rate of blower is measured by orifice plate & U Tube Manometer. The control panel consists of a dimmers stat to control the voltage supplied to the heating element. A Voltmeter, an ammeter and a digital temperature indicator are also provided. Vicat apparatus is one of the apparatuses widely used in engineering labs. The instrument is intended to determine the normal consistency and time of setting of Portland cement. The apparatus consists of a rod weighing 300 grams and needle in each end, braced in a frame with a scale mounted to calculate the distance to which the needle enters the cement.
Critical Heat Flux Apparatus works as a demonstrative tool to present the method of pool boiling. Our flux apparatus has a test wire enclosed by water of persistent temperature. The surface temperature of the test wire is heated by passing current through it. Due to the temperature different temperatures in the surface and atmosphere, the difference in system are observed till it burns out.
Compression Set Apparatus - Compression Set Apparatus are intended to measure the ability of rubber compounds to retain elastic properties after prolonged action of a known compressive stress under static loading. A set of three test specimens in shape of circular test buttons are placed between rigid metallic plates and pressed under a force of 140 kg. They are allowed to remain under this load for a period of 24 hours, after which the percentage reduction in their thickness is determined and compared against specified values to evaluate their ability to resist compression set.
We provide highly precise Reid Vapour Pressure Test Apparatus on demand. It is used to know the vapour pressure of volatile non-viscous Petroleum products excluding liquefied petroleum gases. The Vapour pressure vessel is made up of brass which is again Chromium plated and consists of an air chamber and a gasoline chamber of fixed dimensions and volume ratio. The joints are kept leak proof by using neoprene washers. A pressure gauge of prerequisite range is fitted above the air chamber. The water bath used is made in such a manner so as to maintain the dimensions that the vapour pressure bombs may get immersed to at least 1 inch above the air chamber. It is maintained at a constant temperature range up to 100 degree Celsius± 2 degree Celsius.
Vicat Softening Point Apparatus - Vicat softening temperature of plastics is the temperature at which a standard flat-ended indenter penetrates one millimeter into the surface of the material under test under a specified load. The test is conducted by placing a test specimen taken from the sample under test on a flat platform inside a liquid bath and applying compression load over its upper face through a flat-ended indenter. The load is applied by placing a dead weight on the upper end of the indenter. After the test specimen attains the temperature of the bath, the bath temperature is increased gradually till the indenter penetrates by exactly 1 mm into the test specimen. The bath temperature inordm;C at which this happens is reported as the Vicat Softening Temperature of the sample under test. & The& Vicat Softening Point Apparatus (High Temperature Model) consists of a specimen support, weights, a deflection measuring device, and an immersion bath. & The specimen support consists of a circular supporting plate on which the specimen is kept and a loading plate having a bush for guiding a vertical rod carrying a hardened indenting tip. The two plates are joined together with spacer rods of same material (brass) as indenting rod so that they have identical co-efficient of linear expansion. The indenting rod is fitted with a disc near its top to place the dead weight on. Two circular dead weights are provided to enable loads of 1 kg or 5 kg to be applied on the test specimen.
