Slurry pump cover plate is suction side casing in lined slurry pumps which pull together with frame plate around the liners via cover plate bolts. Compared to unlined slurry pump, cover plate and frame plate act as pressure retaining devices located outside the slurry, the abrasive wear of liners has no effect on the maximum allowable working pressure.
