Molexs space-saving, highly reliable Standard Mobile Imaging Architecture (SMIA)-compliant camera sockets support ultra-slim mobile phone, tablet PC and vision system applications.

Available in on-board and through-board designs, these sockets meet a variety of design requirements including low-profile (space-constrained), single-side PCB, compact footprint and others.

Molex offers an array of parallel data sockets (non-SMIA compliant) in bottom- or side-contact, on-board or through-board configurations to complement serial data (SMIA-compliant) solutions. These sockets feature a characteristically higher pin count than serial versions and are available in a variety of X-Y (camera module) dimensions, housing and shell features, and PCB mounting styles.

molexs s8 wedge-style bulb socket is the first version in the market to feature a one-piece design, which simplifies assembly and reduces inventory and component costs.

The molex s8 bulb socket also includes a patented individual wire seal design that provides easy attachment during the crimping process, along with superior sealing and usability.

Push-and-turn (pt) type
molexs standard pt sockets are primarily used for rear-combination and turn-signal lamps. These proven sockets accept industry-standard bulbs in simple, lightweight designs.

Standard wedge-type
molexs standard wedge-type bulb sockets with robust design are ideal for harsh environments such as door courtesy lamps, back-plate lamps, tail-signal lamps, and front-and-rear combination lamps. The wedge-style mating interface is user-friendly and offers space savings.

With a 2.40mm seating plane, these sockets enable the use of very low-profile modules with maximum seating heights below 2.80mm, in ATCA* blade systems. Press-fit sockets feature smaller eye-of-needle compliant pins that increase trace-routing density between holes on the PCB for greater PCB real estate savings. SMT versions are halogen-free and lead-free. The sockets 10 milliohms low-level contact resistance make them excellent for power savings, especially in blade systems.
