The snake plant or Sansevieria is a genus of perennial herbs, also known as Mother-in-Law’s tongue, snake tongue, and Bowstring-hemp. These plants are one the most widely cultivated indoor plant and its hard and thick leaves are known to purify the air inside the house.

The leaves of Sansevieria Zeylanica are dark green in color, very stiff, and thick, arranged in a rosette manner. The leaves may be hard and soft depending on the climate. The leaves of snake plant also have white, or gray bands all over them. The slender stalks of snake plant are often mottled with white, rose, lilac- red and clustered flowers.
