Magnesium Metal Powder 99% is a fine, silvery-grey to off-white metallic powder composed of high-purity elemental magnesium. Due to its high surface area and reactivity, it readily participates in chemical reactions, especially when exposed to heat, oxygen, or acids. The powder burns with an intense bright white flame, making it widely used in pyrotechnics, flares, and fireworks, as well as in metallurgical processes as a reducing agent. It is insoluble in water but reacts slowly with moisture and rapidly with acids to release hydrogen gas. Magnesium powder is also used in the manufacture of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and specialty alloys. Because of its flammable nature, especially in fine powder form, it must be handled with care and stored in a dry, airtight environment away from heat, sparks, and oxidizing agents.
