Ajwain, Usage : Food And Medicine

Ajwain Seeds are native to Middle East and Egypt, now grown mainly in South Asia. It is a medicinal herb used both for culinary as well as therapeutic purpose. Ajwain Seeds are used in the Indian and Middle Eastern dishes in whole and roasted form which enhances the flavor of the food. In South Asia it is also used to cure indigestion, low appetite and other related problems. It is used in preparation of curries and curry powder and goes well with fish and meat dishes. It is available both in whole and powdered form.
