Amchur Powder, Color : Brownish

Amchur powder is made from raw unripe mangoes called as keri/kairi. To make amchur, unripe mango strips or chips are dried in sunlight for few days until they become brittle and crisp. then these mango pieces are ground to fine powder. Thats why Amchur is called as dry mango powder in english. ‘am’ is a short word for aam, meaning mangoes in hindi and ‘chur or choor’ means to crush, crumble or powder.Uses:Amchur powder is usually used when the mangoes are out of season, to add flavour and nutritional benefits of mangoes to the foods and drinks.
