ammonium sulphate has ph value is 5.5 in 0.1m solution. Density 1.769 g/cm3 (20°c). Ammonium sulphate is hygroscopic; soluble in water; insoluble in acetone, alcohol and ether. Main active ingredients are 21% nitrogen and 24% sulfur, so it can be described as npk 21-0-0 24s. Generally, it is a by-product from chemical (cyanuric acid, capro, acrylonitrile, sodium cyanide, monosodium glutamate-msg, methyl methacrylate-mma, etc.) or steel plant.
Steel grade (also call coke-ovens grade) is fine white powder. After processing it can be white granular or flake. Caprolactam grade is colorless (achromatic) crystalline or yellowish crystals.

ammonium sulphate is one of the most common use and most typical inorganic nitrogen fertilizer. Ammonium sulphate is the best fast release, quick acting fertilizer, which can be directly used for a variety of soil and crops. It can also be used as kinds of seed fertilizers, base fertilizer and additional fertilizer. It is particularly suitable for the soil which lack of sulfur, low chlorine tolerance crops, sulfur-philic crops.

It can increase the acidity of the soil, therefore should pay attention to use in acidic soils with alkaline fertilizer, such as plant ash, phosphate rock powder or calcium magnesium phosphate and so on. Use in neutral and alkaline soil in order to prevent calcium ion combined with sulfate ion to insoluble calcium sulfate (gypsum), caused by soil hardened, and should apply with organic fertilizer.

In order to prevent deterioration, strictly prohibit store nearby alkaline substances, such as lime, cement and plant ash. The stacking height should be less than 7 meters.
