Asafoetida is actually a gum oleoresin from the various plants of ferula varieties. The Plants are cultivated in Iran and Afghanistan. The plants are of Apeaceae plant family. These are small shrubs. The leaves are hairy, ovate and decurrently placed. The flowers are in terminal umbels. The latex or gum is derived from living rhizomes or tap roots
If babies have intestinal worms and pains,make a paste of hing and put it on naval,spinal cord externally and give a pinch of hing with gud(jaggery) to the baby. It gives relief to child.
