Baclofen is primarily prescribed for:

• Muscle spasms due to conditions such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, or other neurological disorders.
• Relief from muscle stiffness, rigidity, and pain caused by muscle spasticity.

Baclofen works by:

• Acting on the GABA receptors in the spinal cord.
• Inhibiting nerve signals that cause muscle tightness and spasms.
• Resulting in muscle relaxation and reduced pain or stiffness.

• Usually started at a low dose and gradually increased.
• Common initial dose: 5 mg 3 times a day, titrated up based on response.
