Black pepper is freshly handpicked from farms of rural Sri Lanka and Madagascar, and is then sent from our collection centers to our central warehouse for handling. Processed in state-of-the-art facilities, the black pepper exported by Alkhair Exports is dried in our very own industrial driers, graded for size by top-of-the-line machinery, and then cleaned in high-grade cleaning machines. Black pepper is native to Southeast Asia and has been linked to Indian cooking since 2 BCE. Besides its use as seasoning, black pepper was also used as an ingredient in to cure illnesses such as indigestion, insomnia, and tooth decay.
