Carden Shafts

Cardan shaft is a mechanical component for transmitting torque and rotation, usually used to connect other components of a drive train that cannot be connected directly because of distance or the need to allow for relative movement between them.

It acts as an intermediate between the driving and the driven shaft that are not aligned on the same axis transferring the running torque smoothly. There are two universal joints in it enabling a flexible connection between the driving and the driven shaft. Each universal joint or cross bearing has four rolling bearings realizing the low friction and minimizing torque losses. Some of the applications of Cardan Shaft are listed down:
